I'd like to overclock my XP 2800+ Barton but I would like to know first as to what is the highest recommended voltage setting I should use with the stock heatsink/fan? Any/all help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What temperature is OK to go to? At 1.9V with stock cooling, full load brings the CPU to about 70 degrees Celsius at full load running Prime95. The warning temperature on my AN7 is set to 75 degrees Celsius, and I'v read that the maximum temperature the die can handle is 85 degrees Celsius.

So, 70 degrees Celsius, although no doubt warm, is OK, right?

I wouldn't personally let it above 50C.... 70 is damn hot in my opinion, I wouldn't expect it to last long that way

no way !!
regardless of your temps you will destroy your cpu if you go too high with the voltage
be carefull
i wouldn't go over like 1.75 like mingon said
i've said this before but i've fried several athlons using higher voltages, granted i did get them to extremes like my 2400+ to 2.53ghz but the truth is it wasn't worth limiting the lifespan to a few weeks

good luck

My AN7 reports a temperature of 52 degress Celsius at full load running Prime95 with stock cooling when not overclocked...
