LOL your not goona improve, I have that very chip, wont budge at all. Plus the palomino runs quite hot So I bet against it, not worth it.

1.8 is pretty sweet for a Pally, so I doubt you'll get much higher. If you were to get an XP-M, TBred B, or Barton you'd get a few hundred mhz higher. One thing I would try is to set your mulitplier to 9x, fsb to 200mhz, and the DDR to 1:1 (loose timings first, then tighten them up). That's about all I could see doing.

Edit: spelling

Thanks. Yeah I've heard that Pallys + Overclocking = suck. I just ordered an Athlon XP 2500+ Mobile for $65 so I can't wait to test that out.

That's your ticket! You'll get that thing substantially higher. My Pally 1600+ only did about 1600 real MHz, so your 1800 is going pretty decent. When AMD went to the TBred core they really figured something out about the constrution and that continued into TBred B and Barton and Mobile Barton. Pally is basically a steppingstone for the respectable AXP's.

bad luck with scoring a palomino :(, the 2500+ will b awesome in comparison :)

Quick question: got a 2000+ t-bred running @ 2600+ish (167*12.5) @ 1.7v atm, but i got a cwappy ASUS A7V8X with the VIA KT 400 chipset=no AGP/PCA lock :(

Whats the best o'c i can xpect, and what voltage w/stock hsf is safe? I can hit 182fsb but is it better 2 stay @167 and push the multi with this set-up?
Cheers, & sorry 4 hijacking ur thread...

Yes, you have a nice mobo, so, I think atleast 2.4 maybe 2.5GHz. Btw, that a good price for the XP-M 2500+.
