depends on how old it is. When AMD introduced the athlon 800, they stopped making .25 micron cores. That was late last year. If its made this year, its going to be a .18 micron.

Get WCPUID and if it has a "2" in the model number box, you have a .18micron. If it says "2" you have a .25micron...

You don't need to download any thing, just look at the top of your processor and if the top line of letters and numbers has an "a" at the end its a .18 micron and if it has a "c" its a .25 micron. It will look like this(AMD-K7******A)and the number below that will look like this230016******. That second row of numbers indicates as follows,1st 2 numbers are the production line it was made on,2nd 2 numbers indicate the year of production and the 3rd 2 numbers indicae the week of production. The rest of the numbers are not important. These numbers are not written in ink and may be under the clamp that holds your heatsink on so just pull it out of the way,the numbers are ingraved you could say. Hope that helps.

The only real difference is that the .18 core is smaller and runs a bit cooler. The .18's probably have a 0 Mhz to 50 Mhz overclocking advantage.
