No! The 3800+ Toledo has half of each L2 disabled.

That would make it = Manchester?
Any way to change that?

no.

Both cores perform fairly equal, dosnt matter which you get.

No, and nor would you want to. There is probably one or more faults in the disabled cache sections.

We're seeing some serious price drops/sales on the x2 3800+. Good new for me who's grabbing one within a few weeks. :)

Their Reseller rating is weird. There were some reviews from April and thats it. The website does not list any phone number. Can we trust this web site?

Apparently not according to zim & bjc112

Sorry, I copied this directly from If you can't trust Wikipedia, who can you trust?
CPU Cores
[edit]

Manchester/Toledo (90 nm SOI)

Dual-core CPU
Manchester = 2×512 kB L2-Cache, Toledo = 2×1024 kB L2-Cache
Is it that the 3800 X2 is not the same as the other X2s?

3800+'s with the Toledo core have 1/2 the core disabled supposedly because half of the cache failed. ~~

frys has the 3800 x2 for $349, but it includes an nforce4 motherboard.

if you are near a frys that might be a better deal, since this place the reseller ratings isnt so great.

yeah, that's why the world record for OCing a 3800 is held by a Manchester, yup.

That's an outlier. The probability of a freak Manchester core ending up at the hands of a skilled and well-equipped overclocker is probably the ratio of Manchesters to all X2 CPU's.

I'd be more curious in the mode (i.e. most common) OC of a 3800+ Manchester and 3800+ Toledo, as it's more indicative of what the average Joe Q Overclocker with a nice aircooling system but not much more will achieve.

Just my two cents.

From what i've seen they're both pretty equal in terms of OCing ability. Mostly luck of the draw just like when u buy any other AMD for the amount they may OC. Also this is a very difficult number to come up with since there are so many variables (type of cooling used, how high the person was willing to push the chip, and if u get a nice OCing chip).

6 lifetime reviews, No contact info. I wouldn't take the chance.

I checked the FAQ's and there was plenty of contact info, tech support, sales, etc. but, if you have an issue w/ the reseller NewEgg has it for $329 shipped 3 day FedEx.
