AMD Athlon 64 upgrade!Motherboard required!!!

I want to know which is the best mobo for a AMD 3000 64.

Well what do you want/need?


The best boards IMO are those based on the nivida nForce3 250gb chipset.

They start at $99 (Epox) and go up and up depending on what you want.

I live in india and nforce 3 250 chipsets aren't available here.nforce 3 150 chipset isn't as good as the via k800 chipset.So i want a via chipset,only preferably.

Support for as much as i will be able to oc,AMD 64
3*1gb ddr 400 slots,upto 2gb
4pci slots
ata 133
8x agp slot
onboard 6 channel sound
usb 2.0 - 4 slots
etc
I need a good performer especially in games,decent oc if possible
As cheap as possible and a good company.

Well the VIA chipsets do not have a AGP/PCI lock but the best one IMO is the...

It has firewire, gigaethernet, and a TRUE hardware soundcard (VIA Envy). I am running this board and have the cpu running at 209Mhz as it will go up by 9Mhz over stock while only raising the PCI/AGP my 1Mhz. So it adds about 100Mhz to most A64 chips, like mine.
