Hey guys,

I just got this.
1. Does anyone have a specific motherboard to recommend to use with it without too much modifying?
2. also, does anyone have any experience with it? How is it compared to other 64 chips out there?
3.Anyone try to OC it?
4. Anyone know a link to some decent benchmarks on this chip compared to athlon xp and athlon 64?

Thank you for your time.

I've been eyeing that one as well. I think it may be the best bang for buck processot out there, with a little overclocking. It should overclock to FX-53 speeds.

I have mine running fairly stable at 2.52 with an A64 freezer. I primed it for an hour. I am running 1.525 volts and upped the chipset .1 volts.

Not bad...not great...but not bad.

I am using a DFI...I don't think you would want to use anything but the DFI

On the freezer I put a quarter on the fulcrum of the clip and more than makes up for the difference in the heatspreader thickness. I am just figuring the HSF cost me an extra quarter...

personally, i think you'd be crazy to get anything else!

absolutely fantastic board. get a thermalright slk948 heatsink. just about all others will have to be modded to correctly fit a naked amd64 chip.

honestly, i think one of the newer 64bit-enable semprons would be a better choice. they will probably OC farther than the 1.8GHz mobile DTR. or, if you have the $, find a 90nm rev.E mobile (hint: look at shentech.com).

If you get the HSF to mount properly you can PM me and I will get on IM with you help you get through as much overclocking as your stomache can handle.
