its the socket 940 version, unless you already have a 940 board, it isn't that hot.

This is usually around a $750 proc. I called the company, appearently they did honor the price, but they sold out quickly and back ordered too many, so now they will cancel some of the orders anyway. If only....

And then you have to buy registered DDR ram. To top if off, the upgrades you're limmited to would be expensive Opterons.

You're much better off with Socket 939, paying more for a 3800+, and then paying less for the motherboard and memory. Or better yet a 3000+, 3200+, or 3500+ and then overclocking...

It isn't worth $750, $200 is definately "fair" considering the expensive components you are restricted to. Although if you could sell it off to a sucker on ebay you'd definately come out ahead.
