I just got one of these shipped yesterday from Newegg. I went to their website (and others) and they now say this has been discontinued by the mfr. What gives?

Edited to add: this is the E6 version.

We thought 144 Opterons would be discontinued, and then 165 Opterons, we thought they were going to jack the price on all s939 Opties in fact. It's all just rumors. I really doubt they are discontinuing the 3200+. Maybe after AM2 gets established they will discontinue it, but still unlikely, the 3000+ is a more likely target as AMD will want the Sempron series to dominate the 3000+ area.

It is possible that the E6 stepping has been discontinued, not the 3200+ model.

Yeah, that's why I edited my post to say it was only the E6 version.

BTW, what is the diff btwn the E3 and E6?

E3 usually overclocks better, otherwise the diff is probably to small to even measure.

Also i think the 3000+ ahlon have been discontinued.

Dont wanna hijack the thread but does anyone know if the 2600+ semprons have been discontinued(754), i have one on order coming and its getteing harder to find it in places.

I think the E6 is the one that's a dual core with a core disabled. Maybe AMD ran out of their stock of defective dual cores to use for these chips.
