I'm wondering with what GPU I can CF a modern APU.
I'm having a very unique build here where I can install a dGPU but there's no access to its ports. That's why I'm thinking about a Hybrid CF build where I can hook up the monitor to the motherboard HDMI port.
I know a R7 250 can be used but what about a R7 360 or 370? I don't care about scaling above the dGPU's performance. All I care about is the pass-through.
A CF with a R7 250 would be a tad too slow.

In the past there was Lucid Virtu but that doesn't exist anymore nor can you enable Optimus on the desktop. So as far as I know Hybrid CF is the only way to get a pass-through these days.

You cannot Hybrid CF 360 and higher, up to 250 with current APUs.

Even with Lucid Virtu if you only had the igpu connected you would only get the igpu speed.

I remember seeing some threads were they mention Hybrid CF with a HD 7750 & 7770 (it wasn't with a Kaveri APU though). But now that I think about it, the R7 250X is the same Cape Verde silicon as the HD 7770. So did anyone try to CF with a 250X?
I'm wondering if somebody even tried to CF with a R7 360 or higher. Or does everyone just assume it doesn't work.

You need SFR (Split Frame Rendering) and not AFR (Alternate Frame Rendering) in order to make Hybrid CrossfireX a viable solution. DX12 makes this possible but no DX12 games (alpha/beta or otherwise) have implemented it yet except for a UE4 engine demo.
