http://techreport.com/news/30307/rumor-amd-zen-chipsets-suffering-usb-3-1-setback
I am suppose to put the link to the other tech website in the subject? I'm not sure on these rules.
I am suprised this hasn't appeared in these forums yet but I believe this to be a non-issue which is probably why.
Some people, myself included, were wondering why no AM4 motherboards were even shown at Computex as many were expecting Bristol Ridge AM4 boards with some new APU launching.
This article confirms the new upcoming AMD AM4 chipset will be designed by ASMedia. They have previously supplied multiple USB3.1 chipsets which have no issues and I believe are the leading supplier next to perhaps Intel Alpine Ridge. I have a hard time believing that the USB 3.1 chip could be an issue or cause of any delay.
I have even heard that AMD doesn't design their own Memory Controller within the CPU chip itself - does anyone think these new AM4 chipsets will possibly hold back the Zen platform?
