I have 3 fm2/fm2+ motherboards on the shelf and kids who are begging me to build them another PC so they can play Minecraft together. I was looking for a cheap cpu that had good, basic video and found this.

Amazon has the AMD A4-7300 retail boxed processor on sale for $40 shipped here:

The processor has onboard Radeon HD8470D graphics with a little more than 3X the 'horsepower' needed to run Minecraft well. No need to purchase a video card.

The next best price I was able to find was 25% more delivered - $51. Note that it is not currently in stock, but will be shipped out as soon as more arrive.

What's the essential diff. between the A4-6300 and the A4-7300? They're both Richland.

I bought three A4-6300 for $37.99 ea at Newegg, but I've seen them online for as low as $29.99, either at Newegg or TigerDirect.

The A4-7300 has 100 Mhz faster CPU clocks and the iGPU has 64 more VLIW4 Stream processors (ie, 192 vs 128 on the A4-6300).

You saw one in the $20's? That definitely sounds like one of those oem deals without retail box, heatsink and fan.

The 7300 has 192 video shader cores running at 800 MHz.

Not sure about the A4-6300, but the A6-5400k was $29.99 free shipping last month ---> http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2402196&highlight=5400k

It has the same 192 VLIW4 stream processor as the A4-7300, but has an unlocked multiplier (with 200 Mhz slower CPU clocks). I did come with the retail box and Heatsink fan.

I just got notice that my two processors have shipped, with expected delivery on Saturday.

I'm just glad to get this deal, which is a full $10 less than I paid for an a4-6320 processor for my parents just 3 months ago.

BTW, it says back in stock at Amazon again, $40 shipped. ($50 elsewhere)
