That probably sounds as a unusual question, but the MB I have now is a AssRock 970 that has to have the worlds worse 'Boot Menu' within their UEFI. What I mean by that is whomever designed it need to change employment fields. It is so unnecessary complicated that it limits the number of choices for each type of device to boot off of. You have to go into a secondary menu to access the other devices.
Without going into it further, my other PC w/ a Foxconn MB w/ a conventional BIOS has, what has to be the worlds best 'Boot Menu' option, an exact opposite of the AssRock POS. It offers a separate splash screen outside of the normal BIOS screen for the sole purpose of choosing what device you want to boot off of without going into the BIOS or pressing a function key.
Anyway, my 1st MB 16 years ago was a Gigabyte and to my surprise they are still around and I see very popular unlike many other names long gone unfortunately. (What no Epox??
)
I don't game or overclock. I haven't ruled out any brands other than ASRock. Asus & MSI would be two other choices I would lean too.
Are any available (new) that still have a conventional BIOS??
Setup;
W7 Pro, three HDD's (one SSD & one conventional are bootable), two optical drives, one external HDD, memory card reader & USB ports.
