Bought an amd 940Be yesterday and think I should of done better research and listened less to salesmen. I am one of those "I never had an intel and will never will" I did lots of reading and much of the new boards and chipsets didn't make much sense to me, or atleast finding one that fits what I need. Last board was an asus m3a and it wasn't the best nor the worst, just tons of bios updates that didn't exactly do much in fixing bugs. Might of got one of those unlucky boards, I always liked asus but the last board didn't make me too happy. So I was told best board for the money was an asus m3a78-em for 90, has the 780g and sb700 chipset. Also bought an evga 9800gt for 150(might be interested in an ati). Anyone have any better thoughts on a better combo without wasting money. For one I don't need integrated graphics. I assume most of the features are lost once its disabled in this board.....like all the extra connectors for hdmi....Only real idea I have is the 790fx chipset might of been better, alittle more cash but newer, I do plan on reusing this board in the future for more upgrades.(only bad things I saw is price, no need for all the pcie slots, and the overclocking feature of this chipset is great for alder phenoms but not the 2 series I know almost nothing on videocards and wanted to try out a few games....so I would like a somewhat decent gaming computer, that I can build up if I get into it. I read tons of reviews but am having difficulty fitting a board for my use, (I doubt I will ever use multiple video cards. Any advise is great including brands and model numbers. I will be overclocking this cpu.
Or should I stick with what I bought, considering the price.
sorry for the messy post....too many thoughts, not enough time....wish there was a quad core brain upgrade.
Thank You
