AMD 939 fan/heatsink quickie

I have a retail 3000+ 939 CPU, and I am going to swap it out for a 4000+ CPU. I lost the AMD heatsink/fan from the 4000+. Anybody know if my retail AMD 3000+ heatsink/fan will do for the 4000+?

If the 4000+ is a single core than I don't see a problem at all, if its an X2 then it might run a bit warm but I still don't think any damage would be done.

I believe there are 3 different retail coolers. One with no heat pipes, one with 2 heat pipes, and one with 4 heat pipes. I used the 0 heat pipe cooler on my 3000+ overclocked (and with a slight voltage bump) to 2.5 GHz without any problems. I eventually upgraded to the 4 heat pipe cooler for piece of mind, but I don't remember temps ever being a problem with the 0 heat pipe cooler. Basically what I'm saying, if you aren't running a dual core 939 chip, I would imagine the 0 heat pipe cooler will be sufficient for any single core stock volt 939 chip.

Thanks guys. I have a single core 4000+, it has the 1MB L2, which was a big deal in the day. I'm not sure which heatsink I have as I can't check it right now. I guess I might get a cheap aftermarket down the road.
