amd 939 asus now avalibale

I wouldn't be in such a hurry if I were you. Its pretty expensive and I would wait for other manufacturers to release mobos just to compare. And also wait for some reviews to come in before you buy.

yeah compared to the increase in the price of the chip i think the motherboard has a pretty decent price, i say go for it, its cool and you can brag about being one of the first people to get it, i wish i had the money.

Here's another thing, you may want to wait for the refresh, like the nforce's version 2.xx boards as VIA is having problems with their chipsets...

too bad its a via, im gonna go nforce3 250 all the way, that way i know ill get stable drivers and a pci/agp lock that works

Darn right, I NEED NF3-250Gb!!!!! 😛

I don't need the firewall thanks to my trusty old router but that RAID controller is too cool. Not to mention the AGP/PCI locks.

If only NV hadn't dumped SoundStorm. 🙁

the via chipsets are better in performance, at least they have been recently. i would pick via over nvidia chipsets for performance

Go right ahead if you want a board with faulty AGP/PCI locks. And regarding the speed differences, the Via is slightly faster is gaming and the NV is significantly faster is workstations apps. I'd go NV.
