Just bought a 7950 and upgraded to 8.1. If you search for the 8.1 drivers on their site it results in an empty download page.

Before I upgraded to 8.1 I installed the latest drivers and my machine constantly rebooted. So I said screw it and wiped it all out but can't find the drivers now... should I just use 8.0's?

BTW I thought ATI drivers were better now but I'm having the same exact experience I remember 5... and 10.. and 15 years ago. They still suck?

Please explain, otherwise it's just flamebait / trolling. Also, if you say why you think this then the many AMD users here might actually be able to solve your problems.

Probably shoulda asked before upgrading to 8.1 I think many people on here said to wait.
I know I did and I'm happy about it.

The drivers are the same. In fact, it's a unified driver for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1. PEBKAC much? If I can find them on my phone in about 25 seconds, anyone can find them.

Sorry, but that's just sad. Not having a driver prepped for a major OS update is crazy. Great that beta drivers work, but this is sloppy support.

Wasn't but a few weeks ago and you needed a special driver for Windows 8.1, preview driver v1 and v2 were all you could use until recently.

It's just a company, relax.

A proud one.

There are WHQL drivers.

And this is a technical forum. I wonder how much something as easy as this would mean for regular John.

I uninstall the NVidia driver, put the AMD card in and install their driver. Computer goes into boot loop. Maybe its not AMD, maybe its windows 8 which I can't stand in 8.0 or 8.1.

right, not the greates idea to switch between nvidia and ati without clean install. Usually it works without problem, sometimes it does not.

I have no option to download anything there, expanding optional is blank as well.

Some people are emotionally attached to companies and lash out at people because they have problems with said company.

Don't let it bother you, I'm sure you're seeing something similar to this?

Running the latest 13.11 beta here. Oddly, Win 8 cleared off that beta when I upgraded and slapped in a WHQL one instead. I reinstalled the beta's and all is OK. Zero issues.

At first I was going to respond to your ASSumptions, stupidity, and flame baiting, but then I remembered who I'm talking to.

It's not hard, for the search challenged:

That download fails with a signature error...

Seriously... 3dmark isn't working (unknown connection error)... Crysis 3 is giving me a dx cabinet error... and the display driver has randomly crashed and recovered twice already (this is whatever windows installed)... wtf is going on. This is a fresh install of 8.1 now.

Is 8.1 just super buggy? I feel like I have a pretty standard system.

There seem to be a few issues with 8.1, though the only ones I've come across are a few games not working after the upgrade. Had to delete a few folders to get them to start. Other than that, I haven't come across any issues, and I just did a removal/install of the drivers myself.

Thank you for the link but what is your problem?

That wasn't directed at you.

I clean installed 8.1. Went to amd site, clicked download drivers, selected desktop, chose my card and windows 8.1 x64. Downloaded the 13.9 version and installed without any issues. Not sure what the issues are but everything seems to be working for me.

Nope, I've been running Windows 8.1 on and off since it was made available and I never had the issues you're describing.

It's unlikely they're directly related to the video driver.

The link I gave you is the driver I used not 30 minutes ago, so I know it is unlikely that it is somehow corrupted.

Is your system at stock by chance? Another possibility is that you have a faulty video card.
