I'm about ready to give up, I cant keep the fans on this thing going. I have the Tri-X OC version and fans keep dying. Warranty service has been great, they send me the WHOLE cooler (all 3 fans and the shroud) but its a hassle to wait on when a fan dies. I have about 9 months of use and am on my 3rd replacement fan (and its dying again) the shroud has one fan with a single plug, and 2 fans on one more plug, the single one keeps dying. I cant swap one of the spare fans as 2 are on 1 plug (yes i could cut up wires possibly). I have even re oiled a fan or two .. just no luck. its not space issues as the card has almost 4 inches or room below it and its a screen side case. While my house is not hospital clean, i dont feel its dust issues, my fans (i have a CPU fan, 2 front fans, and 1 exhaust fan) all seem to stay ok dust wise. I am confused why the duel fans on one plug dont die, but the single fan does over and over. And its lose, the shaft is lose like its lack of lubricant each time.
Right now i have a make shift 80mm sitting on some plastic legs pointing at the bad fan hole (fan is not in card). 3 dead fans in 9 months and 4th has started making noise(and been removed in last 2 weeks for my makeshift solution) Just dont feel i should need to be doing this, anybody else with this card having these issues?

Are the fans non standard sized? Chances are those stock fans are sleeve bearings if they are not lasting. Some good ball bearing fans should last far longer.

Being that it is dual GPU, I do not think there are any aftermarket whole coolers except going with a custom water loop.

Interesting that it's always the same fan. Maybe there is something wrong with the card that's causing it? Have you told Sapphire that it's always the same fan? 3 dead fans in 9 months isn't typical, obviously.

maybe try using bearing grease instead of oil? Perhaps the looseness you notice in the shaft, like lack of lubricant, is because it wasn't packed with bearing grease?

Sorry for late reply. they are sleeve bearing fans, yes they are odd fans, as is a shroud with 3 fans the fan is just a mount and blades, no edges etc . SO picking up replacemnt fans is not a real option. Each time the fan gets locked up, they are magnetic so you can just pop the fan blades out with the shaft. I have cleaned the shaft and inside the bearing. whatever they use for lube is gumming up (maybe metal filing and lube ?) once cleaned up it spins, and fits fine, i have then used electric motor oil, then it works great.. for about a month and starts acting up, pull it out and the shaft is all loose (blades hit shroud) same for all 3 (now 4) fans.

I was just wondering if anybody else had issue (that had card) I wonder if maybe another variation of the card cooler is better?
