I building a computer for someone who uses mainly MS Word and Excel with occasional internet browsing. They don't play any games but are still looking for a machine that is fast being that they are a heavy multi-tasker an some of the excel spreadsheets are fairly complex.

For their needs, will using an AMD motherboard with a the 790GX or 785 chipset and plenty of ram (4~8gbs) be suitable or do they need a discreet video card as well? They are planning on powering a 1900 x 1080 monitor which both IGPs claim to be able to support.

Any thoughts?

Both IGPs are way more than plenty for anything but gaming/GPU folding

The 3300 or 4200 (depending on the board you get) are plenty capable. You can do some gaming on them too. Totally not like the integrated intel crap we've been used to previously.
