AMD 7790 with the AMD R9 285 in Adobe Premiere

I know this setup will not work for PCI-Express based crossfire gaming, but can I use this setup to help speed up Adobe Premiere Pro CC?

I mean, since they are being used purely for OpenCL compute, this should be a go right?

I understand that Adobe Premiere is GPU accelerated, I'm trying to determine if I can add two different generations of AMD cards to my system, since right now, the 7790 is just collecting dust.

My friend, I was showing you that Adobe Premiere is shown to work on 2 identical cards. I am not sure whether it works on 2 different cards. But it works on 2 of the same and it scales very well, so that is promising. The article also points out that crossfire doesnt need to be enabled for OpenCL compute which further bodes well.

I'd say that bodes well for your 7790 addition. Give it a shot and report back if it helps, it wont hurt your system to try and put it in. I'd be interested to hear how it turns out

So, I added the 7790 to my system that has the R9 285, and Windows can't detect it. Is there something else I need to do to get it to be detected?

You sure the card is working? Try with just the 7790 to see if you get any display output even.

I thought Adobe Premiere preferred Cuda over open cl has this changed?

Adobe After effects rendering is done in CUDA only, but Adobe Premiere will use CUDA our OpenCL.

I still have to take out the R9 285 and are if the 7790 is detected by itself.

I Finally got it to work! I needed to get a PCI-e power cable and now windows defects it.
