Hiyas, just a quickie question here (Hopefully you smart people:)

I'm about ready to put Win XP on an Epox EP-8K7A AMD 761 MB with a AMD 1900+...
I've been out of town sort of lately...in the Afganistan area :disgust:

When I left Xp was not a choice and I was running W2K and 98SE...
Do I still have to go through all the hassle with the 4 in 1 drivers and VIA AGP Gart, AMD AGP Miniport etc etc with XP? And if so what order is required...

Thanks in advance for your assistance folks~! :D

The only drivers you should need would be possibly a newer version of the video card drivers. You would not need the 4-in-1's, etc for this. You should run the XP compatibility test (on the OS CDROM or MS website) to be sure if all your other hardware and software meet the XP conditions though. It doesn't take long and can help greatly when it comes time to load. You can find this test here.

You shouldn't have to use the 4in1 to work with XP but you might find performance to be a bit better. MY 761 system worked fine with just XP but after using the latest 4in1 I got better performance. Your milage may vary though. I only know this cause I ran 3dmark and with 4in1 I got a higher score.

Doing the compatability test is a good idea though.
