what processor should i get
all socket 939

3000+
3200+
3400+
3500+

I was thinking of the 3000 since its 1.8ghz and the other ones are 2.2ghz.I dont think it will be much faster if anyone can tell me how much more faster they are apart like a precent, because i could save some money with the 3000.

ty for the help

i was trying to fine some i saw some benchmarks

i think i might go with the 3000 no OC maybe later i dont know how scured

If u dont, just get the 3400 745, cuz the CPU for that is like 210 vs 150 for 3000 939. At stock there is a big performance gap. and motherboard for 745 is much cheaper..(50 dollar) But if u do OC, 3000 with same nice ram and PSU, u can hit 2.4-2.5G with no sweat🙂

I really dont want to overclock because 1. I am scured I will burn my cpu 2nd I dont want my cpu hot 3rd I dont see how big of a gap 1.8 to 2.2 its kinda poitless i think i might go with the 3200 because its in the middle its got like 2ghz but somthing is still telling me to get the 3000 save some money because i want to get that DFI NF4 still havent decided what to do with video cards i wish i could get an ATI card i am sad 🙁

i wish i could just get a x800xt and use that for a long time and than get another one later on when i want to and have enough money

o and this is the ram i plan on getting http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=20-145-522&depa=0
i saw those ones with the lights and crap looks kinda werd and they are huge sticks they are like 4 in high

i would take a x800xt before a 6800ultra

but dam nvidia is going to be on top for a long time after this SLI even i am tempted and i <3 ATI cards they rule in games they are sweet maybe i just get a x800xt with my DFI nf4 and forget the SLI wonder what would happen if u tried to put 2 x800xt on SLI

The 3000+ would probably be the best deal. Since you won't be OCing, the higher multipliers on the other two won't make as big a difference.

The 3400+ is a socket 754 CPU.

Twin X800XTs would be awesome. But you said that nVidia is going to be on top now due to their SLI? Not really. SLI is only going to be considered by a marginal percent of computer buyers, those willing to spend 2.5 - 3k on a computer. Otherwise, a good percent of people will still be buying ATI. Also, SLI isn't necessary right now. The X800XT can run the most graphically intense games at 12 x 16 with AA, TF, and max settings perfectly. ATI cards are still very competitive cards, so don't worry about em 😉

cool someone that likes ATI cards i think i am gonna get the x800xt plat. with the NF4 board but it would be wasting the DFI board because it has to pci express slots do u think DFI will come out with a mobo that only has one pci express slot or maybe asus i like dfi better still though

3000+ or 3200+ 939 procs are the sweet spot in price/perf right now...

Wait, what socket 939 DFI board has 2 PCIe slots?

Anyway, I'm not sure if Platinum Edition is worth it, definately not for the prices they're selling them at now (600+).

Here's my setup btw:

Athlon 64 socket 939 3500+ Winchester 90nm processor
Radeon Visiontek X800XT video card
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard
1gb OCZ EL Gold Rev2 DDR500 memory
Seagate 160gb SATA hard drive
Soundblaster Audigy2 ZS

Plus case, peripherals, optical drives, lighting, cooling, speakers, and everything else it is 2000 bucks.

ya i hope DFI comes out with a board that has one pci exp slot that would be a dream SLI is stupid i guess i thought it would be cool but it would cost so much i just get 1 card at a time and that one card(typo car lol) is the x800xt
