I bought 64 AMD X2 3800+, and have a doubt.
The application of thermal past is necessary between the CPU and the fan/heatsink.
Thank you

You need some thermal interface material.
The stock heatsink should come with a pad on the bottom which acts as an alternative to buying/using seperate thermal pasta, but you do need *something* there.

Sure, it will increase heat transfer to the heatsink!!!!
Remove the pad that comes with the retail HS and apply a thin layer of thermal compound such as Artic silver Ceramique!!
