amd seem to be hot runners in laptops, look at intel again l would say, especially if you want it fast, its dissapionting to see how slack amd are in the laptop market.Just a thought for you if your a gamer on a laptop, go check laptop benches, intel with ati seem to be ahead right now......

get a pentium m chip and a geforce go 6800ultra. a pentium m 2.13ghz is faster than an amd64 3400+(s754) for gaming since the laptop chips have no dualchannel, and other new features introduced(the new memory controllers)

just so you know im impartial l biuld pc s as a hobby, l run an fx55 with x800xt 2 gig ram, at moment, have 6 or 7 pc s all biult, but NO laptop, lm a gamer at heart, 4 x amd systems and 3 intels and parts for 10 oldies.......l try and give people options rather than fanboy rubbish cause lets face it one year ati is ahead by a micro dot then next year its nvidea by a micro dot so whata ya do........................look at the price for performance, or if price isnt an issue then go pure performance, theres only 2 cards really up to scratch and with either one you wont go wrong, the difference in fps is very minor.. have fun.................

Is 256MB of video memory even of any use on a laptop? It's seldom of any use on a desktop unless you are running at high res and high detail.

Pentium M seems the way to go in a laptop, especially with heat. I have a laptop with a P4, 2.8 in it and it damn near burns my legs. Pentium M's don't burn up batteries as fast either.
