It deepends on the clockspeed / p-rating. AMD's politics is a little bit nebulous, so you have to include also the memory interface (dual-channel vs. single-channel) into your reviews. Furthermore it depends also on the apps you're running. Athlon performs good in games, wheras P4 gets the performance crown in video-stuff. All in all I cannot see a clear winner
What software is that ? Maybe we can find some benchmarks for you ! The Athlon64 is a very well rounded CPU, and when 64 bit kicks in (if the software is written for it) it really kicks ARSE.
