AMD 64 notebooks with PCI-E support: When??

Hi, folks,
I'm going to buy a new notebook in march and would like to have NVIDIA Go 6800/6200 or Mobility ATI X600 on it.
I've done a little research and noticed that up to now:
- These GPUs are found only on Intel based notebooks that support PCI Express;
- As far as I'm concerned (correct me if I'm mistaken), the best GPU I can have, powering an AMD 64 notebook, is the Mobility Radeon 9700.

My questions are:
1) Why the lattest mobile GPUs are not available in AGP bus likewise its desktop cousins?
2) When will we have access to AMD notebooks with support to PCI-E?
3) Why there are so few notebooks out there equipped with Mobility Radeon 9800? and why none of them are AMD based notebooks?

Thanks in advance

You can get the 9800 which is based on the x800 in AMD lappys from Ibuypower (I am pretty sure). From what I have heard, the X600 sucks for gaming and so will the 6200, if that is one of your requirements.

ok, a few things:
1. dont be fooled by all those name and numbers

from what i remember, the Radeon 9700m is nothing more than a faster clocked radeon 9600m

and the x600 is nothing more than a pci-e version of the radeon 9600.

needless to say, that gpu is getting a little long in the tooth.

and i think the radeon mobile x800 is nothing more than the pci-e version of the radeon mobility 9800.

your best options are either the nvidia 6800go or the ati 9800m/ and or x800m

good info about the Mobility Radeon X800

To be fair, PCIe doesn't seem to be available for the Pentium-M either, all I see is desktop P4s.

So the question really is why NVidia is not offering the 6800 Go in AGP.

The answer to your question is that Pentium M gets a PCIe platform on January 19th (google search for 'Intel Sonoma' for details).

If you live in Japan or Korea you can already buy a Pentium M system with this platform.
