AMD 64 Mobo recommendation

Hi all,
I am looking at the ASUS A8N-SLI DLX (I want Firewire)and an AMD 64 3800, I really don't care for SLI right now I would rather buy a better VC. I usually buy Asus mobo's, but things change and I want to see if there is a better board out there now, or coming soon. Thanks in advance.

Do a search, the most recommended board right now is the Epox EP-9NPA+Ultra and the DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D. I have used both and I can tell you the Epox was the better of the two. My first DFI died while I was at work and the second one I couldn't get to run stable without BSODs despite trying 2 different PSUs, 3 different sets of RAM and about a dozen BIOS flashes.

So the Epox is the best choice? Being that the DFI gave you so many problems right? How is this mobo act with ram? Is it picky?

I have run 4 different types of RAM in it, 2 x 256MB PQI with TCCD chips, 2 x 512MB PDP Patriot with TCCD, 2 x 512 Corsair XMS with BH-5 and 2 x 512 Corsair XMS with Infineon and all ran just fine.

I vote for the DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR. I have never had a problem with it. Right now I am running an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor (Venice) @ 2.7 GHz, stock air; 1.55V on this motherboard.
