I have been in the market for a laptop for the last few weeks and have been looking at the posts about the emachines AMD 64 and all of the MiTAC resellers Voodoo, Hypersonic, etc. I had been religiously visiting the http://www.amdboard.com/athlon_64_notebook.html website to see if other models would become available because I dont want to pay much more than $2200. I recently found a listing that wasn't on amdboard: http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/highendsystem/ntbkx648000.asp and it has the best price and component ratio of any of them.

I've looked at their reseller ratings and they're average to above average in cust satisfaction (8.47 for recent and 7.0 for lifetime). So I was gettng pretty psyched that I had hit the price-performance-credibility trifecta. I called sales and the guy was kinda sketchy on knowledge of the product and wouldn't tell me if it was in stock. Ugh. Also their warranty looks like one year only. Ugh...

Does anyone know mcuh about Cyber Power Inc. to sway me one way or the other? If I wait much more I will just end up waiting for a model with the m11. Plus Asustek and BenQ (ODMs) are coming out with AMD64 laptops too. http://www.digitimes.com/NewsShow/Article1.asp?datePublish=2004/02/10&pages=A1&seq=1
Advice?
Thanks, Wode

im not sure but i know there is a long tread at hardforums. - you should read that one. but if your going to wait, HP should be shipping one soon, they are pretty good. We have no specs yet.
