Hello me agian. After reading a few reviews etc its come down to these two. Will I notice a huge diffrence going with a 3800? Will the performance be alot diffrent? In other words..will i bang my head against the wall over and over cause i didnt go with a FX-53? So if i decide to go with the FX-53 ill be going with a Asus AV8 and if i go with the 3800 Ill be going with a Neo 2 Plat Nforce 3 ultra board. I know your asking why dont i just go with the Nforce 3 on the FX-53...well thing is the only way i can get the FX-53 is with that board. Anyhow Pls post away. Ill be ordering later today and would love to see some awesome feedback from you all thanks.

You will not notice any huge difference. Check out this article for some benchmarks of the two.

if the 3800+ were cheaper I would say go with that, but when you are already looking at CPUs that expensive, and the price difference is not THAt great, go with the FX, unless it will be cutting in too much on the video card budget.

If you're going to blow that much on a CPU you might as well get the best. FX-53 is a little faster and has an unlocked multiplier. Might as well go with it.

Call it 1 hunch but I got this gut feeling that the extra cache on the FX53 may widen the performance gap between it and the 3800 when the 64bit OS/programs come around...
