AMD 64 3400+ Temperatures

Ok i've just built myself a new computer, the temperatures have me scratching my head a little. Sitting Idle the CPU runs at like 43C but the System temp is at 44 C. 44 degrees system temp is high no? How can that be running hotter then my CPU? When i run a soft sandra burn in, it bounces to about 57-60 Celius for the CPU.

Im running a MSI k8n neo Plat board, anyone mind telling me what temps they are getting on this board and what revision you are using in the bios.

Also other amd 64 temps would be nice.

Edit: I updated the bios and am running at like 42 degrees idle. Im currently running the Prime 95 torture test and hitting a max of 52 or so now. Little more to my liking and well within the range for Athlon 64 i assume. However my system temp still reads 44 degrees celius. Could that be the NB chip?
