Hi, I've been looking into build a new system based on the AMD64 CPU. The supplier I use now has an AMD64 3200+ (running at 2.2ghz) but only 512K cache for £50 cheaper than the regular AMD64 3200+ with 1 meg cache.

I'm tempted to go with the 2.2ghz version as its quite a bit cheaper. Has anyone seen any benchmarks of this CPU anywhere?

Heres the link http://www.dabs.com/uk/channels/components/processors/productView.htm?quicklinx=2N72

Well, the Athlon64 3000+ (2GHz, 512KB) and current Athlon64 3200+ (2GHz, 1MB) have little performance difference. The 3000+ and 3200+ are typically under 2% off from each other. Based off of that I would say that your processor would probably perform a little better then those two but not by much.

Of course, a 3000+ owner would be better since they have run their processors at 2GHz and 2.2GHz.

Cheers!
