Amd 64 3000

Hello, I have a question for you all. I am currently running a Dell computer with a 2.6ghz non-HT and 512mb pc3200 with geforce 5200 (128mb). I mainly just play FPS games (Mohaa, HL2, etc.) and was thinking of building a system with:

AMD 64 3000
1 gig ram
6600gt pci-e

I know I gave you just generic parts, but do you think I would notice a significant difference with this configuration. I really dont want to spend more than $1,000. Thank You

It should be a good improvement. A 6600GT is leagues ahead of a 5200, and 1GB of RAM will be smoother in games.
