Is the 50x15 iniative still alive, or has the One Laptop Per Child project replaced it as AMD's big humanitarian project? Or possibly AMD's big PR campaign to get the AMD name synonymous with computing in the developing nations that are likely to have the most explosive growth in PC users over the next few decades.

I don't want to crap all over their noble intentions, but it seems like a really good strategy. Let Intel keep the already saturated industralized world and be really agressive in getting the AMD name out as a brand name in the up and coming nations. Over the long term it could flip the worldwide market in AMD's favor as the PC market in the developed nations plateaus and the market in the developing nations explodes.
