Hi all,

Since I have Arctic Silver 5 compound, I was wondering if you all would reccomend removing the thermal pad from my stock AMD 3200+ HSF--I am going to use this hsf and not a 3rd party cooler anyway. Should I just leave the pad on? More IMPORTANTLY, is the pad hard to remove from the cpu a few months later if I should choose to remove the hsf and cpu. What would I use to get the melted "gunk" off? Thanks!!!

Scrape the pad off, wash it off with some isopropyl alcohol (99% is recommended, but I used regular 70% rubbing alcohol fine), and apply the new paste to the heatspreader on the processor.
