AMD 3200+ nForce3 Mobo vs. P4 3.0c P4800C-Deluxe

Right now my current motherboard/CPU consists of a Pentium 4 3.0C running at 3.3Ghz HT. I'm using the ASUS P4800C-Deluxe mobo.

I'm thinking of picking up a new Winchester 939 Athlon 64 3200+ with a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard, nForce 3 Ultra.

Assuming this was all I changed in my system (have SCSI drive, 1GB RAM etc) would I notice a difference in speed anywhere? General snappiness of the system, games, programs opening,, etc.

Or is this just not worth doing at all?

Not worth it, IMO. What you've got is pretty close to the top of the line and the speed differences are *not* going to be noticeable in everyday use.

I'd say hold off for a while until you can get a better jump in performance for your money.

I say wait too...You could buy it and overclock the heck out of it, but I still don't think it'd be really worth it for you.
