AMD 2900XT starts cheating on image quality?

It appears that 2900XT starts missing shadows, grass kind of things in high image quality setting. Did not know whether this is due to 7.10 or it has been there for a while. If this is the performance boost 7.10 is all about, well it does not look pretty 🙁

it is supposed to be quality-adaptive AA, not quality-adaptive rendering

The flash light comparison screen shots don't seem to be showing self shadowing with the ati hardware

Driver issue. Which will be fixed.

Oh by the way, the games which were fixed for performance issues in the 7.10 driver set did not have rendering errors. DX10 games mostly.

I was almost worried this was another GeForce 5 series fiasco with NVIDIA back when they were nVidia.

I have noticed some odd graphical anomalies in Civ4 with the 7.10s myself. I don't recall playing Civ4 under the 7.9s though, and I'm not about to roll back for something so minor.

After reading the topic title, I thought a real scandal is brewing. But after reading the article I realized the op was clever making headlines that capture attention. Reminds me of kyle................. Anyways interesting article and it looks like both camps can play this game fine.
