I am new to these forums, so please have patience. I recently bent the pins on my AMD Athlon 2800 64 bit processor when installing it to an FIC motherboard, and I wasn't able to recover all of them. So, I bought another AMD 2800. This time, I had a guy who owns an entire chain of computer stores install the exact same CPU into an Asus K8V Socket 754 motherboard. I then installed the OEM cpu fan myself. The mobo would not post any video. I tried everything and nothing worked. Then I removed the fan and cpu. One of the cpu pins appears to be bent. Am I the only one with bad luck with AMD 2800 cpu's, or is this common ? One more question, if you will: Does the K8V have any known difficulty with cpu insertion ?
