I dont understand when I see a P4 with same clock speed but different fsb "400 or 533" which should I buy and why?

the 400 FSB means 100MHZ X 4 = 400MHZ FSB, where as 533 FSB means 133MHZ X 4 = 533MHZ FSB...you be the judge....

its just a different combination of fsb and mult

for example
p4 2.4ghz w/ 400fsb would be: 100fsb and mult of 24 (100*24=2400)
p4 2.4ghz w/ 533fsb would be: 133fsb and mult of 18 (133*18~2400)

i would get the one with 533fsb out of the p4's
out of amd vs. p4, its pretty much a toss up at this point.

plan on overclocking?

I suggest a p4 if you prefer a quiet system. The stock fan turns about 1/3 slower, and I use a quiet L&C 350 watt power supply ($17.95 shipped at dealsonic). You can get a jumbo swiftech or alpha heatsink and use an 80mm slow turning fan for the amd, or a zalman rpm fan adjuster for the stock amd heatsink. Only $6.95 at fry's electronics.
