AMD 200 fsb vs a 266?

If you had say an AMD 1.2 TBird-B 200 fsb and overclocked it to 266 fsb, still at 1.2 though would you have a AMD-C cpu? Does the AMD-C reach its default 133 266 fsb without overclocking the agp,pci,ect.?
 
Yes you would, you would have to change the multipler to 9 tho to run it at a 266Mhz FSB.
And yes, the t-bird "C" does reach 266 Mhz FSb w/o OCing other components.

B or C, at 133MHz fsb is not overclocking any components. 133MHz on a 1/4 pci divisor is in spec.

I've tested both, and out of this weeks batches, either chip topped out at about 10 x 145, or 1.45GHz.

Both would be at 290MHz DDR.


Speaking from an overclockers standpoint, obviously.
 
Why would you want to use 133MHz (266DDR) and give up the ability to overclock your PCI, AGP, IDE, and memory??? Both CPU's handle 133MHZ+ FSB, but why use it? Everything runs faster here using 112MHz FSB, as all Buses are overclocked, and memory has the option of overclocking as well, to 149MHz, (HClK + PCICLK), but 133MHz does not have that option. Also can get higher end results MHz using 112 Vs. 133, as more usable multiplier options are available. Even bumping FSB up to 140MHz (280DDR), yielded net results that were poorer than 112MHz fsb, as buses and memory are overclocked less, along with the limited usable multipliers.

It would be better, if your cpu can run at 1450 and you have the proper ram, to run at 153x9.5=1453--your PCI=38.25 and your AGP=76.50--faster all around including memory scores!!

Pehaps that is where the 266 CPU's will do better?
I can't get CPU to run more than 140, or 280DDR.
