Is this the way to go?

1 Year Warranty!
Includes a Microstar K7TPro2-A motherboard, AMD "Thunderbird" SocketA 1000 Mhz OEM CPU, and Super Cool SocketA - Ball Bearing fan/heatsink.

You might want to check into a different heatsink but otherwise it is a combo I would have chosen too. 🙂

Honestly, dont get an orb. My .02 cents. I can tell you more if you really want to know why. As far as the diff between classic athlon and the tbird, its the socket and the cache. The new tbirds now come in the socket A while classic athlon come in the SLOT A. the new tbird also comes with less cache (256K) than the original athlon (512K), but that cache runs at the same speed as the core, instead of at half or less, as was the situation of the original athlon. This is because the cache on the tbird is on the die instead of off of it. General, this is a large improvment. Faster cache and no more HUGE slot processors.

Thats enough outta me.
