Does the amd 1800xp have the same clock throttling feature as the P4s?Im thinking of building an 1800 system but i dont want to have to convert my pc into a refrigater just to keep it from throttling down to half its speed whenever it gets too hot.Id prefer to know exactly what speed my cpu is running at all times, according to tomshardware the p4 throttles down big time at 89 degrees fahrenheit, is the 1800 cursed with this "feature" id hate to buy a 1.53 mhz cpu and have it run at 800 whenever it feels like it.

According to an artical over on TomsHardware the AthlonXP doesn't have this feature although it does have a built-in temp. diode. AMD provide specifications for m/b makers to use this diode to throttle it when needed but this is to be done by the supporting chipset and not by the cpu itself. I have not heard of any m/bs that do this yet.
