Hi, I just recently bought this at Fry's Electronics. I was wonder if I needed to close the gaps on the L1 bridges to overclock it or do I just change the FSB on the MB? I need some help! The CPU seems really small for me and I can barely need the damn gaps!

well yes and no. if all you want to do is up you FSB then theres no need to unlock it . but if you want to use different multliplier settings yull need to unlock the chip. with the multlipers unlocked you cn adjust both anf get a better overclock

If u dun wanna unlock the CPU, just make sure the CLK1 jumper is set at 133 FSB. The up the FSB in the bios to say 140 w/ vcore at 1.80v & RAM voltage at 2.6v. U should be able to hit this easily.

Then, up the FSB by say....3 Mhz at a time until instability occurred. Up the vcore, a bump up the FSB again.

Small increment in FSB O/cing is recommended. If the PC dun POST. Clear the CMOS & try again.

Enjoy.
