How would you unlock a T-bred B for use on an older mobo that doesn't unlock therough thte chipset? Would it just be the same as per general unlocking guides (and could anyone post links?)
The mobo supports up to 13x multiplier, 1700 is 11 I think, so should I be able to use it at 13x if I unlock?

You close the last L12 bridge I do believe, if my memory of those tbred unlocking articles serves me correctly. So yes it is per those articles anyway.

If your mobo supports 13x then I think that's what you should be able to get up to.

I've heard bad things about the KT266 and KT266a chipsets. I had a KT266 m/b that had plenty o' problems with a GF2 GTS myself. So you may not have alot of luck with this puppy, even if you mod your chip.

I've been using my KT266A board till today and not one problem.

As a side note. I think you need to mod a bridge to enable multiplier 13 and higher. Do a search on the board. I'm sure you'll come up with something. I'm pretty sure you can access other multipliers lower than 13x. Do you have a jumper which you need to switch when you go from a Tbird to a palomino?? If you do, change the jumper to the tbird settings instead of the Palomino. Try changing multipliers then to see if it works.
