Problem here.

Have an Epox 8kta3 + Pro and today I upgraded it to a AMD 1400 266Mhz from TB 800.
Once starting up it started to beep,...beep,...beep with error code from my error display on epos board.

C1

This means problems with autodetection of onboard DRAM and cache the manual say.

The MB is trsted with 1400 266 so this should work fine.

One last thing I did when I upgraded:
I added another 256 Mb TwinMos 133 cas 2 to my 2*128Mb Mosel cas 2. This I set in slot 3.
Afterwards I also tested with only 1 memory chip, but it didn`t o anything to the problem.
Have also rised Cpu Core Voltage with jumper on MotherBoard but didn`t help.

Please help.

Yes .

Tried with only 256mb TwinMos 133 cas 2 ram in slot 1 and properly seated.

No

Nothing works, whatever I do.
Can it be PSU, thus I have Fortron 350w.
Have disconnected all harddrives and cd drives too to higher voltage to other parts of comp.
And one more thing, I have Geforce 2 Gts

If you still have the TB800, does it work when you put it back in? Were you overclocking the 800? Do you get any kind of video display at all?

You might have bad Ram! That is not a processor problem. Just use the Ram that worked with your 800mhz Tbird. If your processor was BAD then you might not even be able to power up your computer.

I did`t overclock the TB 800.
I`ll put it back and see.
Bad ram doesn`t make sense when all three are of high quality and I have tested all.

What I am more and more sure about is that it is voltage delivery to the CPU. (cache?)

When I got the Epox 8kta3 + pro the PSU connector did not fit good at all into the MB connector.
I had to plug it in a proper way to get the MB to boot. I fixed this issue by changing the pins in the PSU connector(widening them, ìt seemed some was outside of the MB pins) and after some improvements the MB booted normal. But it may not be enough surface contact for 1400 266. So I`ll try to also modify that a bit more.

Hi again. Thanks for all help so far.

Tried to change to TB 800 cpu and guess what happend?
...beep...beep...beep

error code c1: autodetection of DRAM or cache failed.

So what did I do wrong? Here is what I did:

1. Demounted the two mosel ram chips
2. Demounted fan and cpu.
3. Plugged in AMD 1400 266
4. Mounted taisol cooler.
5. Mounted mosel in slot 1 and 2 as before and the brand new Twinmos in 3.
6. Powered on and the error message came.

I`ve also tried some more. I removed the ram chip so all slots were empty. Then I powered up and same error.

What of computer parts is garbage? What new components should I buy, if any? When the computer powers up, is CPU running then?
Maybe it is the cache inside the cpu that is wrecked. I can hardly imagine that the addition of the third memory chip wrecked them all.

Need your help.
