Use the latest one. Of all the people I get new cards for, I always get them the latest driver nVidia or AMD. Never had a problem.

So quick question.. what driver was better the 10.1e or the 10.12's for flash player stability?

If you say 10.12's, you are wrong. So much for the latest driver theory.

Oh , I seen it.

In the past few months I have never seen so many hot fixes since I've owned my AMD card. Thats my point.

At this point and time if I needed to upgrade, I would have no idea what driver to pick.
Honestly. I would have to google it and do some research. Thats just sad.

That's OK. We're here for ya if you need help. j/k :D

Seriously though. I'd rather have them do multiple hotfix releases, squashing bugs, rather than wait months for the first follow up drivers after release.

True, but it also brings the question of what kind of shit are they making that they really have to release 3-4 hotfixes a month along with a new series of drivers. I wouldnt mind waiting 2-3 months for drivers if they had a nice performance boost and thoroughly tested for bugs so only a few come with it.

Yeah... I'm sure no one would be whining and moaning about long waits between driver releases...

You don't have to use the hotfixes. They're only meant for people who care enough to know what the differences between each letter are anyway. That's why they aren't linked on the main page. If it's too much to worry about then don't worry about it and stop digging around for them.

The flash support is about the only thing I can think of a hotfix version really did better than a regular version, and flash support blows regardless and should just be turned off to begin with.

But anyway the conclusion people are drawing is totally misleading to what the article says. The article says they were hoping it was bad drivers holding back the 6970, but that the new drivers aren't squeezing more juice outta the card (in 2 games) like they hoped. Conclusion = the drivers aren't bad and and aren't holding back the 6970.

Thanks, too bad nobody tested those games.

I thought that maybe I was the only one who noticed that the games they tested aren't supposed to have any improvements with the 6900 series anyhow.

If the reviewer were a freshman in a high school journalism class he would have gotten an F for that review.

they will always have driver issues coz their not making use of profiles like nvidia. every game is coded differently with the profiles you can tweak every game coz it will react different with every code.

They do have game profiles, we just don't have the ability to access/edit them.

Flash worked fine with both drivers. If you have every single component overclocked in your PC and god knows what else installed on your machine you can't always blame the drivers. You want proof that both worked fine for people who actually own AMD hardware. Go ahead and ask them, I don't know what you do with your PC that breaks 10 out 11 drivers you install, but regular user don't have half as many "issues" you get.

Also, there never was a 10.1e driver. get your facts straight.

I have no idea why the profiles would matter but I am interested in what kind of pie Liu Kang is baking.

I need answers.

I'm not sure what you mean by "rollover". My point (and Skurge's) is that Metro and Crysis are listed as having improvements on the 6800 series, not the 6900.

Well I meant like if it works for the 6800 why not the 6900. Yes, I know they are different but it just seems stupid that it would improve one series but not another

yeah gotta say I'm irritated that with my dual monitor setup I can't alt_tab while in UT3 and alt-tab back into game. Frustrating cause I do that a lot for responding to chats and stuff that friends send.
