i know this might have been covered a million times, but with time, these opinions change.... currently, what would be the best heatsink/fan combo for an AMD 1.4?

Im torn between the SK6, or the Taisol CGK760092 .... about the same price....

and i can stand a little noise, but not a whole lot... it annoys the hell outta me as i have 2 10000rpm scsi drives in the computer already. thanks

oh, if you can tell me a better solution, please do tell.... i dont really plan on OCing the cpu....

how is the performance witht he the thermaltake compared to the delta. I was thinking of getting the same setup you have and want to know how well the thermaltake performs. I don't think I could live with the delta's noise. thnx

I also have the SK-6 with the 31cfm TT fan. The performance is very good, but it is important to have decent case cooling also. It's a great combo of heatsink and fan, but if your case runs hot, you can't expect miracles. If you don't have good cooling, you should go with a higher cfm fan. Chopstxxx...with 14 fans, I have to assume your cooling is pretty good!! The combo should work well for you.

Temps went up 1-3c, the TT 31cfm is a lifesaver to the ears. i used to wear earplugs while gaming, i couldn't even hear the wife calling for me with the delta screamer :D

i have a inwin500 case, not the greatest cooling case w/1 intake fan, so now i removed the cover to get better cooling. i plan on buying a antec sx1000 and will put in my enermax 365w p/s, plus 4 panaflo 80mm fans to help the cooling within the next week. :)
