Ok, i tried oc'ing my old 700 duron.. didnt work out :-(
i have a msi k7t pro mobo and im waiting for the tyan tiger to come to holland,
currently i want some more speed, and i thought it was a good sollution to put a 1.4 t-bird in it,
and when i get the tyan tiger i get another one and make it a dual,

first qeustion: can i put the 1.4 in my kt133 ?

second one: are any of yall absolutley sure the t-bird can be put in the tyan tiger?

third qeustion (just because im curius) : can someone put ,for instance a duron 1000 and a athlon 1400, in the same tyan tiger mobo?

i know i have a lot of qeustions but when i posted before i got some great awnsers so i thought i would try again ;-)
thanks in advance!

See my answer to the question in this thread :)

Bascially the same would apply to you, unless you just picked up a 1.4Ghz 200FSB chip.

I don't have any definitive knowledge about that motherboard, but if it's a KT133 board then it is deisgned for Athlons and Durons so you can put any Socket A chip in it ;)

ok maybe u misunderstood, the tyan tiger mp is a multi processor mobo, so naturally the kt133 chipset wouldnt be used, furthermore only amds own chipset (the 760 if im not mistaken) is used for dual athlon rigs.. and amd officialy says one can only use the new athlon mp cpu's

I'm curious about this too. I have an Abit KT7-RAID (KT133) running an Duron at 950 now, and I was thinking of picking up a 1.4ghz Athlon, but on the Abit site it says,

<< KT7 / KT7-RAID / KT7A / KT7A-RAID / KT7E only support 1.4G(100) Athlon with L1 bridges disconnected. Check L1 before you buy a CPU please! >>

So what does that mean? If I buy a 1.4ghz Athlon witht he bridges connected, what speed is that thing going to run at?

to trmiv: theres a 1.33 ghz athlon out there that has a 100 bus, so get that, its cheaper and u wouldnt be forced to F*** around with it aswell :D

Yea, I could do that. But, I kind of want the 266 one just in case in the near future my parents KT133A (MSI) based board finds itself mysteriously (like they would know) exhanged with my KT133 based board. ;)

There's a 1.3 ghz athlon with a 100 bus -- but the 1.33 has a 133 bus.
