Raja Kaduri has done an excellent job so far in moving the AMD Radeon graphics division back to pre-eminence. Perhaps the best job since they were ATI.

We can quibble all we want about who is better but I'm impressed with his vision and drive. Smart move by Dr. Lisa Siu

16K screens... D:

Do you realize that 10 years ago, it costed hundreds of dollars for a 2K screen? Very few people had them. For the same amount of money today, you could buy maybe 6K. So if we extrapolate that curve out another 10 years we're looking at roughly $300-$400 for 16K pixels worth of screen, probably in the form of 4x 4K screens. 10 years ago the best we had was X1900XT. For the same money today you can buy roughly 50x the graphics power. So on a plus note, if we extrapolate that curve we should have no problems driving 16K in 10 years. A 40W TDP chip should do it with no problems.

Better geometry, lightning etc. before higher resolution kthx bye.

Resolution is for hardware folks, geometry, lighting, handling aliasing and so on are for the people making the games, and there's no reason not to attack the problem from as many directions as possible.

Thats because the software folks don't push hard enough.

I want results before I put my red shades back on. Just about every talking head since Ruiz left has gone off about how this or that is the future and AMD will be there first paving the way!

Granted, they were there first, and I guess they paved the way, but they seem to think their job is done after they opened the door because then they sit at the door way while everyone else runs in and reaps the glory.

I'm more interested in 240Hz part of it - resolution can stay at 4K for <40" screens for me.
