Problem statement:
My ASUS P4P800 documentation explains the limits on amperage draw from the three mobo fan-headers like this. Each fan header will handle fans in the 340 to 740 milliamp range. OR -- the total draw from all fans cannot exceed 2.22 Amps.
I see a fan I want to try that can be controlled through the motherboard. But it draws 800 milliamps or 0.80 Amp at 12V DC. If this is the only fan that I will connect to the motherboard, does it exceed the manufacturer's intentions? Will it cause damage if plugged to the mobo?
