Is it just me or does the Amazon Friday sale always seem like the regular Amazon prices. I think that Skillet has been $19.99 for a while.

in case people havne't figured it out... Amazon has a "sale" every Friday!!

It's like when people used to race on here to breathlessly quote Buy.com's deal of the day every day.

Amazon's Friday sale is a bit like the Friday night hash at your local diner. It's made up of the bits and pieces of the junk that nobody wanted to buy during the week. Eat at your own risk, but I've never seen anything at the Amazon Friday Buy-a-thon that wasn't available at the same price other places.

Guys, there's no need to thread crap. Some people, like me, appreciate a nice reminder to go check out Amazon's Friday Sale. From there, I can see if there is anything that I personally consider to be a hot deal and everyone else can do the same. JumpOnDeals is merely pointing out what he feels are 'hot deals' and reminding people to use a coupon. He's not blatantly advertising his own site.

If you don't need the reminder, don't come into the thread. It's that simple.

I agree, sir...almost as bad as the "Lock it down, MODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" posts...I read them, decide if I am interested, or have any answer to anyone's questions, then move on....simple as that.

I meant that I agree with this post, not the one that posted before I had a chance to reply :)

A agree also, a reminder is much appreciated. And this reminder is nice as it lists the things they have saving my dial up modem one less stop. And I even think a buy.com reminder is also helpful, even if it is daily.

Thanks JumpOnDeals!

"Thread crapping" in a Hot Deals thread is FAR different from doing the same in FS/T. What does JumpOnDeals care if someone cautions about the sale? It's not like he loses a sale!

I wish I could afford the titanium chef's knife. Sounds pretty cool. :)

Gesh, TauNeutrino, settle down. A lot of us happen to appreciate the info JumpOnDeals posts here. At least he's contributing. And he does come up with some nice deals. If you don't like the post then simply move on. No reason to be hateful.

and i thought i was the only one having to put up with a store going out of business for 3 yrs and yet is still having the same damn going out of business sale. i say close the freaking store already. maybe the owner is trying to p!ss someone off enough so that his store would get torched and thereby collect from the insurance company.

True, but it seems to me like people are attacking him personally for even posting this. I consider that thread crapping.

TauNeutrino, may I ask you what your problem with JumpOnDeals is? Maybe this deal is tepid but I'm sure you've noticed not every deal here is fantastic. You've been here a month and you're attacking a person (who has been a regular contributor to this forum) for no real reason. I sure as hell don't mind having deal site webmasters here, they are usually actively seeking out deals and are more informed about current deals than most people.

Many members here use boldface type and link their Hot Deals sites in their sigs, including bigbigsavings, who is an Elite Member. Obviously it's something the administrators of this forum have no problem with. I highly doubt anyone putting their site in their sig is helping them rake in the dough somehow.

You're questioning JoD's motives, but coming into his thread and launching unprovoked attacks makes me wonder about yours.

TauNeutrino: why don't you leave the moderation to the moderators. That's what they are there for :).

I totally agree and Steve does a great job at listing what he considers the hot deals (e.g. George Forman grill). Unlike other members who have their own deal websites he doesn't say "coupons can only be found here", he's contributed hundreds of great deal threads and I'm thankful for his contributions to making me go broke!!!

Steve also takes the time to list all available Amazon coupons (without the codes of course) and manufacturer rebates.

B) If so, does the use of this forum as a means of self-promotion and advertisement effect the forum's quality/relevance in a negative way?

whether the use of this forum as a means of self-promotion and advertisement AFFECT the forum's quality/relevance in a negative way or not should be left for the MODs to determine.

posting weekly deals will have an EFFECT (pay more for the same thing) on members that may not know about these weekly deals.

i will be the first to post if Amazon includes this Dictionary set in its Friday sale.

crap, i'm quoting something that's no longer in this thread. doh. Homer's "doh" can now be found in the Oxford English Dictionary. woooohooooo

Tau, I assure you that your Orwellian theories do not apply to this forum. Many dealers have posted here and have quickly had their posts locked or deleted. Still, if you would like to report this incident to your favorite conspiracy theory newsletter, be my guest.

And if people are praising Steve, it's because he's earned it. :)
