How does it work if I buy a $9.99 HD copy of a movie ?

Can I download the HD copy to my computer or iPad for offline viewing?

On your computer no. Amazon did away with Unbox for the pc but like Crono mentioned using their app on certain devices allows you to dl movies and tv shows. Last time I checked Apple devices and Amazon Fire devices were the only ones allowed. It has been a year or so since I looked into it though.

You can download video content you own on Android as well, in the Amazon Video app. Just checked, and at least it works for the videos I own (as well as Prime videos).

Very cool. Good too see they expanded to Android over the last year or so. Just curious but what device was this on?

There was a very brief period when they allowed downloading in Windows, but that was long ago.
In fact I think I got one from them and never watched it more than once. Probably lost by now.
